"DEAL" bios

Jay Kensinger is a Santa Cruz filmmaker and editor who has been working independently for over 10 years. Some of his edited films have been shown in several local film festivals, including The Santa Cruz, Northern California and Poppy Jasper Film Festivals. He has an Edgar nomination from his first film, and his latest film ("Deal") was recently selected as an entry in the 2010 Santa Cruz Film Festival.








Judith Wellner was born in Budapest, Hungary. She has been obsessed with why people do what they do for as long as she can remember. She had studied and worked in England and France before she moved to the Bay Area. After she had completed her studies at the Drama Department of the University of Bristol, she studied Meisner technique with Ian McRae in Santa Cruz, California. 3 years ago, she started her theatre company, Red & Black Stage. Working as a Stage Manager with ScripTease Improv & Sketch Comedy also hugely contributed to the direction she would like to continue on as an artist. Currently, she's studying with Billie Shepard at the San Jose Repertory Theatre and taking the initial steps towards her next stage production.

She loves Magritte, Mozart's Requiem, champagne, corsets and lemonade.



Matthew Galvin is a Santa Cruz cinematographer and filmmaker who has helmed many professional productions.









Marc Nicholson began performing in 2006, in several dance concerts, and later moved into acting. He dedicates all of his performances to his Grandparents.









Michelle Shulman has appeared in the Santa Cruz Theater scene in plays such as "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" & "The Exonerated" with Pisces Moon Productions", as well as, Eight Ten's @ Eight" at The Actor's Theater. She is presently working on the staged reading of a Play she wrote entitled, "The Rub" to be showcased at Actor's Theater in Santa Cruz.




Martin Azevedo co-wrote, co-produced, musically scored and co-starred in "Not Famous Yet" (1997) and he's done sound and set work on several other movies with titles similar to movies you've heard of. Browse his dusty archive at www.eatagoodbreakfast.com.




Jennifer Galvin holds a Theatre Arts degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and has acted in productions in Los Angeles, San Diego, Monterey, and Santa Cruz. Favorite roles have included Emma in Betrayal, Deus Ex Machina in Tartuffe, and Rita in Prelude to a Kiss. She has also directed and produced several productions, but acting is and always will be her first love. Jennifer is proud of everyoneÕs work on the production of Deal, and is thrilled to have been a part of its making.




Greg Tennant is a graduate of the USC School of Cinema-Television. He has worked in many capacities on independent features and television documentaries, including the upcoming "Call of Life: Facing the Mass Extinction." His own feature "The Distraction," filmed in San Jose, Berkeley, and San Juan Bautista, is available on Netflix.




Geraldine Byrne is an Irish born actress.She has performed on stage in Colorado,California. and the U.K for over twenty years. She is a member of equity in London England Other credits include radio theatre, several independent movies and voiceover work. She is currently appearing in a play called Incorruptible at The Actors Theatre in Santa Cruz.




Geraldine Conley came to film late in life via a love for writing and need for a creative outlet.




Brandon Silverman is a 22 year old graduate of Boston University and a post production student at San Francisco State. He is very thankful to have worked on "Deal", his first time ever on a film set!
